MULTI-CONTACT STANDARD PRODUCTS IN COMPLIANCE WITH ROHS DIRECTIVE 2002/95/EC.

All Multi-Contact standard products are now RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant. The RoHS Directive aims at tackling the problem of increasing electrical and electronic equipment waste. It will ban the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants from 1 July 2006. Through implementation of this RoHS initiative, Multi-Contact has eliminated the use of such hazardous substances from the manufacturing of its standard connector products.

Multi-Contact has always taken an environmental approach to its operations. We minimize energy consumption and emission of pollution. We develop, manufacture, and sell environmentally friendly or recyclable and non-hazardous materials wherever possible. Our designers incorporate this philosophy into their standards, along with a focus on safety and long service life. These two key business practices afford safety to the users as well as offer a safeguard to the environment.

All Multi-Contact declarations of conformity can be viewed and downloaded from our RoHS Conformity page.
